Doane College Crete campus seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Art for fall 2010. Responsibilities include teaching all 3 dimensional art courses including sculpture and ceramics. The art department serves majors, including future teachers, and non-majors in a beautiful, new art facility opened in 2007. The successful candidate will have excellent hand building and throwing skills and possess thorough knowledge of glazing chemistry and the history of ceramics. Knowledge of current trends in sculpture including installations and experience with down draft gas powered kilns as well as a proven exhibition record required. Teaching experience preferred; M.F.A. in studio art essential. Review of applications begins immediately and continues until position is filled.
