The sUgAR Gallery in Bentonville, AR, is seeking submissions for a juried, contemporary craft exhibit. Regional and national entries are accepted. All work should exemplify excellence in craft, including but not limited to pottery and ceramics, basket weaving, painting, weaving and textile arts, woodcarving, jewelry and glass blowing. The juror is Leo Mazow, PhD., Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Arkansas and former Curator of American Art at the Palmer Museum of Art at The Pennsylvania State University. The sUgAR Gallery is a student-run collaboration between the Departments of Architecture, Art, Landscape Architecture and Interior Design at the University of Arkansas. This progressive gallery facilitates new opportunities for the University of Arkansas’ visual art, architecture and design community to connect directly with Northwest Arkansas’ creative industry. Fayetteville, AR 72701 Submission Guidelines:
– A maximum of 3 works, two images per work for a total of 6 images on a CD
– All works must be original, created within the last two years, and not exceed 60” in any dimension
– Images should be 300 dpi, minimum 4” x 6” in .jpeg format
– Files should be labeled with artist’s last name and title of work
– CD should be labeled with artist’s name and contact information (including email) and include an inventory list (with prices) and artist statement as separate files
– Accepted work should be exhibit-ready, with appropriate hardware for display
– Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the exhibition
– The sUgAR Gallery takes a 20% commission on sales with all proceeds funding future exhibits at the gallery
– Artists who wish to have their submission materials returned will include a self-addressed, stamped envelope Submission Deadline (EXTENDED): September 21, 2011
