White Heat is an exhibition of contemporary, Australian ceramic
jewellery. With its tactile quality and seductive nature, clay offers
endless possibilities in the creation of objects. The White Heat
exhibition showcases a diverse collection of new ceramic jewellery.
White Heat opens at Gaffa Gallery in Sydney this August before touring
to Craft ACT Canberra, Jam Factory in Adelaide and Wollongong City Art
Gallery in 2014-2015.

A specifically designed ‘Touch Table’ will be on display in White Heat,
providing an opportunity for visitors to explore the jewellery pieces
through senses other than sight.  Approximately, one fifth of the
objects will be available to engage with. Co-curator and artist Zara
Collins says “I have always enjoyed visual arts exhibitions that create
an opportunity to engage with the work using senses other than sight,
creating a sense of play whether the visitors are adults or children. It
is joyous to watch.”

Specifically designed tours for members of the community with hearing or
sight impairments will be offered in each venue on tour. Two
free public programs will be offered on Saturdays at Gaffa Gallery.
