Call for entry: 64 Arts National Juried Exhibition

The Buchanan Center for the Arts is calling all artists for its 64 Arts National Juried Exhibition.

There will be $2,800 in awards given in the following categories: $1,000 for the Mary Jane Twomey award for best of show; $300 for the OSF Holy Family Medical Center painting award; $300 for the Eleanor Inness Meith Works on paper award; $300 for ceramics; $300 for sculpture; $300 for mixed media; and $300 for photography.

The juror for 64 ARTS is Adrian Arleo, a studio artist living in Lolo, Mont. She studied art and anthropology at Pitzer College and received her master’s degree in fine arts in ceramics from Rhode Island School of Design in 1986.

Her sculpture is exhibited nationally and internationally, and is in numerous public and private collections, including The World Ceramic Exposition Foundation, Icheon, Korea; The Museum of Arts and Sciences, Macon, Ga.; The Racine Museum of Fine Arts, Racine, Wis.; Yellowstone Art Museum, Billings, Mont.; Microsoft, Seattle; Harborview Medical Center, Seattle; Gloria and Sonny Kamm, Los Angeles; Ruth Kohler, Kohler, Wis.; and Candace Groot, Chicago.

In 1991 and 1992, Arleo received second place and recognition awards from the Virginia A. Groot Foundation, and in 1995, was awarded a Montana Arts Council Individual Fellowship.

International call for ceramic artists: 31st Concurs Internacional de Ceramica De L’Alcora 2011


The Town Council of L’Alcora, announces its call for entries for the 31st Concurs Internacional de Ceramica De L’Alcora 2011, organised by a Commission designated to that effect. All participants are entitled to present a maximum of two works of art created with ceramic materials, which must be original and unique. Entries created by non ceramic procedures, works of an industrial nature or those who have entered in another competitions will not be admitted. Works must not exceed 2 metres long in any of their dimensions. Entries not measuring 30 cm long or wide will not be accepted. Entries must be sent to the Secretaría del Concurso (Museo de Cerámica, C/ Teixidors, 5 – E12110 L’Alcora · Spain) before April 30th, 2010. All entries must include a properly completed application form, and the author or authors’ curriculum vitae. Registration will be able by e-mail [email protected], also attaching the curriculum vitae. A maximum of three images with neutral background (either printed or in jpg format -200 dpi minimum) must be attached to each work of art. The jury will be made up of renowned experts from the world of ceramics. Members will be made public once their final verdict has been announced. Finalist entries must be sent to the L’Alcora Ceramics Museum before May 8th, 2011. Those works who break this term will be excluded from the competition. Call for entry: International Ceramic Competition – Korea

The Korea Ceramic Foundation(KOCEF) will present the International Ceramix Competition with a new vision as the main event of the Gyeonggi International Ceramix Biennale 2011, which will be held for 30 days from September 24 to October 23, 2011.     Ceramic works that are applicable to everyday use that will contribute to artistic and industrial development of ceramics.
  • Ceramics as Expression :
    Pure formative art using diverse ceramic techniques and materials imbued with modern sense. In this category are ceramic sculptures, installations, and conceptual art, etc.
  • Traditional Folk Ceramics :
    Works that show ceramic traditions and unique cultures in different regions of the world, while making harmony and developing with modern aesthetic sense
Qualification
  • Open to ceramic artists the world over.
  • Works by individuals or by groups may be submitted.
    ※ Ceramic works mixed with other genres or that are collaborations with other genres may be submitted.
  • One person or group may submit up to three entries, regardless of categories.
Theme

There is no specific theme. Entrants are free to express their innovative and original ideas that will contribute to the development of the ceramic industry and ceramic art.

Craftsmanship: Concept: Innovation- Red Lodge Clay Center Inaugural Juried National

Red Lodge Clay Center, located in Red Lodge Montana, is celebrating five years of success with the introduction of a Bi-Annual Juried National. It is our mission to provide a place for professionally minded ceramic artists to create new work and share the collective importance of art in our everyday lives. The Center hopes to extend our mission by showcasing the most current and thoughtful innovations and practices in the field of ceramics today. JUROR: Brad Schwieger has been teaching at Ohio University since 1990 and is presently a Professor of Art and Ceramics Area Chairman.
