The Saskatchewan Craft Council (SCC) is seeking a dynamic individual for the position Member Services Co‐ordinator. The position will be becoming vacant as a result of a retirement. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting Saskatchewan’s professional craft artists with marketing and sales opportunities. Specific duties include:

  • Taking the lead role in organizing 4 major craft markets annually,
  • Generating niche sales and marketing opportunities,
  • Overseeing the operations of SCC juries which are designed to guarantee excellence in craft at SCC markets, and
  • Maintaining active communications with all SCC members.

Qualifications: Required:

  • Marketing degree or BA and marketing with special events experience, or equivalent education and/or experience
  • Basic knowledge of cultural industries or of the craft community
  • Good word processing skills with database knowledge
  • Good written communication skills and excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Applicable portfolio
  • Three years business or retail experience (preferred)
  • Experience in public relations with the volunteer sector and with special event coordination, including media interviews (Asset)
  • Good physical condition: occasional lifting of boxes and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds/23 kilograms; requires bending, stooping, walking and standing for long periods of time.
  • Position requires occasional evening and weekend work.

The position is based in Saskatoon, and entails some travel. The position is a unionized in‐scope position (SGEU) and has a comprehensive benefits package. Wages are as per the collective bargaining agreement (under negotiation). The position has a 35 hour per work schedule, with some flexibility in hours possible.
