job posting: Studio Manager @ Lawrence Arts Center

The Lawrence Arts Center is seeking a Studio Manager. Located 35 minutes out of Kansas City, in the college town of Lawrence KS, the Lawrence Arts Center is a hub of arts and culture in the region. The Studio Manager at the Arts Center is responsible for keeping all studios in top working order and for ensuring that teachers, staff and students have the supplies, equipment and facilities needed for a superior educational experience. The Studio Manager acts as the chief procurement officer for the education programs at the Lawrence Arts Center, is the primary liaison between education programs and facilities, and provides programmatic support to the arts education programs. The Studio Manager is a core member of the Education Team who works closely with faculty, and in partnership with the Director of Youth Education, Director of Adult Education and Residencies, Director of Early Education, Print Studio Fellow, and reports to the Chief Program Officer. Position is full time, flexible schedule. Salary is commensurate with experience, and offers an excellent benefits package that includes health insurance, vacation, sabbatical opportunities, retirement and employee assistance plan. Starting date for position is June 2017.
  The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A graduate degree in visual art
  • Advanced experience in ceramics, especially firing gas and electric kilns
  • Established experience running visual art studios
  • Firsthand experience with artist in residency programs
  • Wide range of knowledge in a variety of visual art mediums, studios and procedures

Deadline to submit: June 30, 2017 Artshow.com is currently accepting entries for the 13th annual Art Kudos International Juried Competition at www.artkudos.com.
